A New Weld Seam UV Coating for the Tube Industry

When galvanized coil is welded into tube, the weld destroys the zinc layer — and conventional re-galvanizing melts a zinc strip onto the seam, exposing employees to combustible, respiratory-irritant zinc dust.

Allied formulated a weld-seam UV coating that replaces the process outright: spray a one-time strip of coating on the seam, cure it with a single microwave UV lamp, and continue the normal process — no hazardous dust, no combustion risk, full corrosion protection restored at line speed.
