Allied PhotoChemical Formulates a New Weld Seam UV Coating for Tube Industry

MACOMB, MI – February 9th, 2022 – Allied PhotoChemical has created a new weld seam UV coating that is changing the re-galvanizing industry. Currently, employees are exposed to hazardous dust from zinc material which can cause respiratory irritation and is quite combustible. The new weld seam UV coating eliminates the unclean air and chance for an explosion. Spray the weld seam with a one-time strip of coating then cure it with one microwave UV lamp and you can continue onto your normal process thereafter.

About the Process of Re-Galvanizing

Galvanizing is the process of protecting a metal from corrosion using zinc. In the galvanization process, a zinc layer is added to the surface of the metal to prevent rusting. By reducing the corrosion of the metal on which the process is performed, galvanization increases the lifespan of the metal. When a metal coil is welded together the galvanized layer is destroyed leaving companies no choice, but to try and re-galvanize the weld seam with a zinc strip that is melted onto the seam. However, not anymore!
